  •  Triangulate between multiple complex data sources to identify trends, and develop high-confidence, evidence-based assumptions
  •  Distill medical and scientific data into relevant takeaways and actionable reports that are client-ready, and deliver these both internally and to clients
  •  Continuously monitor emerging scientific data to identify impactful events and client knowledge gaps; review scientific journals, attend scientific and key technical meetings
  •  Foster and grow projects by always thinking ahead to the next question
  •  Take ownership in ensuring that projects are run in a “best-in-class” manner (proactive, communicative, efficient)
  • Follow predefined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to competitive intelligence collection
  •  Mentor and develop other team members
  •  Think strategically
  • Communicate well

  • Comfortable with evolving timelines
  • Proactive
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize pre-clinical and clinical scientific data and identify broader implications for specific opportunities
  • Ability to proactively prioritize workflows
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Comfortable respectfully challenging key decision makers
  • Intellectual agility and resilience
  • Critical thinker
  • Entrepreneurial/growth mindset
  • PhD in the life sciences with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional commercial planning experience, either at a biotech or pharma company or in a previous healthcare-focused consulting capacity
  • Candidates without prior industry experience but with a track record for mastering complex subject matter quickly and excellent writing skills are encouraged to apply

Why Brass Tacks?

Our clients are developing some of the most cutting-edge, clinically-meaningful therapies currently in the clinic for cancer patients. We are a small, agile, close-knit team poised for growth. The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to make a significant impact, shape their own projects, and build strong relationships with both physician opinion leaders and senior industry management.

Employee benefits include 401K, medical/dental/vision.

First year salary range is $93K-$103K with the opportunity for a significant upside based on ability to take ownership on current opportunities, deliver accurate work in a timely fashion, grow the business and make it better.

Independent consultants with prior experience working with biotech or pharma who are open to starting at this salary range in a part-time capacity with the intent of transitioning to a full-time senior-level position at a compensation level commensurate to their experience are welcome to apply. In this scenario, we are happy to craft a mutually-beneficial, customized arrangement, and benefits could still be an option.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
