Job Description

Our client, a local city, is hiring a part time event coordinator to support a number of spring and summer events they have coming up! This person will be helping assist in the planning and execution of local events that bring the community together. This role will support city-sponsored festivals, parades, farmers' markets, and other public gatherings by coordinating logistics, communicating with vendors and volunteers, and ensuring smooth event operations.

Part time hours starting in March (10-20 per wee)

Event dates you must be available for: May 3rd & 4th, July 3rd & 4th

Some travel to Oak Harbor as needed

Hourly rate: $30-35/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and organizing city events, including scheduling, permits, and logistics.
• Coordinate with vendors, performers, volunteers, and city departments to ensure successful event execution.
• Manage event setup, operations, and teardown as needed.
• Promote events through community outreach and assist with marketing efforts.
• Monitor event budgets and track expenses.
• Serve as a point of contact on-site to handle any issues or last-minute adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in event planning, community engagement, or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a fast-paced environment.
