Optomi, in partnership with an innovative technology company focused on creating scalable cloud-native solutions, is seeking a Senior UX/UI Developer to fulfill a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client based in the Southeast. Candidates must be located in the Greater Chicago Area with flexibility to meet on a monthly basis.

*Candidates will be asked to provide design portfolios.

• Proven track record of designing simple and intuitive user experiences
• Proven hands-on experience with React
• Experience developing customer-facing applications, including sign-up process.
• Strong knowledge of working with REST/JSON API’s, GraphQL, Git Flow
• Strong knowledge of working with DBs (SQL/NoSQL) and object store
• Strong knowledge of Docker (containerizing applications)
• Experience with Kubernetes, Test Driven Development, and Continuous Integration
• Agile Software Development experience
• Experience in integrating 3rd party libraries, frameworks, messaging, and services

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing prototypes using Figma
• Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code in React
• This role requires more development experience over design (90% code, 10% design)
• Translating software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software
• Do peer review before committing to the code repository
• Develop features for the work product with a focus on ephemeral communication.
• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Manage staging/test environment and support software testing and quality assurance
