Position Overview

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Lead to drive the development of customer-facing software features and data outputs that enhance product usability and scientific impact. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of software engineering, bioinformatics, and research collaboration, ensuring that novel epitranscriptomic technologies empower researchers to achieve groundbreaking discoveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand and refine software outputs, collaborating with engineers to optimize data visualization and standard features.
• Lead continuous software enhancements, integrating new secondary and tertiary analysis tools to improve data interactivity and usability.
• Conduct custom bioinformatics analyses, designing innovative methods and algorithms for epigenomics research.
• Partner with internal and external researchers to analyze and interpret assay-generated datasets using advanced computational techniques.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to support customers in applying new methodologies to maximize the potential of emerging epitranscriptomic technologies.
• Lead and contribute to the preparation of scientific publications in collaboration with research partners and customers.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
• Minimum of six years of industry experience developing bioinformatics solutions for software applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming and experience working in Unix-based environments.
• Expertise in bioinformatics algorithms, machine learning, statistics, and data visualization.
• Demonstrated ability to extract biological insights from large datasets using systems biology approaches.
• Experience with established RNA-seq and epitranscriptomic analysis methods, including:
• MeRIP-seq for RNA modification profiling or ChIP-seq for histone modification detection.
• DNA or RNA methylation detection using conversion chemistries such as bisulfite or GLORI.
• Motif analysis and identification of enriched sequence motifs.
• Differential enrichment analysis to detect biologically significant changes.
• Strong scientific writing skills and a proven track record of publication.
