Job Description:

The role would offer an opportunity to work with cross functional teams in developing and evolving Cloud services powering innovative technology solutions used in the real estate industry.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience to build and scale SaaS-based eCommerce for PropTech solutions on the AWS cloud platform . This role is ideal for someone working with a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about building highly available, secure, and scalable microservices as part of a greater e-Commerce platform that drives real-time transactions, AI-driven insights, and personalized user experiences .

You will work closely with a dynamic engineering team working with other cross-functional teams to develop innovative cloud-based platforms, developing a portal for managing properties in Self-Storage. This includes but is not limited to managing onboarding of new properties, billing features, integrating with gate access systems, call center systems, gate access systems, payment gateways, recommendation engines, and real-time data analytics .

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop cloud-based SaaS applications tailored for eCommerce or PropTech using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, ECS, CloudFormation, IAM).
  • Design and implement event-driven microservices for high-traffic transactional systems using Node.js, Python, or Go .
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs & GraphQL for seamless integration with web and mobile applications.
  • Deploy, monitor, and scale applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS Auto Scaling .
  • Implement real-time data processing pipelines (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, RabbitMQ) for analytics and personalized experiences.
  • Enhance search and recommendation systems with Elasticsearch, AI-driven pricing models, and personalization engines .
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOC 2 by implementing robust security measures and IAM policies.
  • Optimize database performance for large-scale transactions using PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and MongoDB .
  • Drive DevOps best practices with CI/CD automation (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure as code.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis , and implement high-availability solutions.
  • Work closely with Product managers and business stakeholders to deliver software solutions using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework -
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers while fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation .

Qualifications & Requirements

8+ years of software development experience in SaaS platforms preferably in eCommerce or PropTech domain .

✅ Expertise in AWS cloud architecture , including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch .

✅ Proficiency in Node.js, Python for backend development.

✅ Experience with microservices architecture , serverless computing , and event-driven architectures .

✅ Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation) .

✅ Strong knowledge of database optimization and high-performance APIs for transactional systems.

✅ Experience with real-time analytics, machine learning models, and personalization engines in SaaS applications.

✅ Understanding of security protocols (OAuth, JWT, IAM, AWS WAF, PCI DSS compliance) is desirable.

✅ Experience in agile development environments with a methodology like SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and ability to work with cross-functional teams .

✅ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to scale applications for high-volume user traffic typically associated with e-Commerce domain

Nice to Have

AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer).

➕ Experience with AI/ML models for predictive analytics, fraud detection, or pricing optimization .

➕ Prior experience in eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce) or PropTech integrations (Zillow, MLS, AirDNA, Yardi) .

➕ Knowledge of blockchain for smart contracts (real estate transactions, property leasing, or secure payments) .

Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver under pressure.
