Software Development Engineer I

Location: Bellevue, WA

Duration: 11 Months

Contract type: W2 (no C2C available)

About the Team:

The Same Day Delivery team is redefining speed in eCommerce. We are in the early stages of reinventing the shopping experience to ensure our tech giant client is the first place customers turn to when they need something today, wherever they are in the world.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to help build a seamless and friction-free delivery-in-hours experience for our customers. This role will drive continuous innovation and improvement across all phases of the shopping, buying, and post-purchase experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build highly extensible software systems to support the rapid growth of our tech giant client's delivery business and capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain highly reliable, low-latency services.
  • Design and enhance the checkout delivery experience in collaboration with multiple teams across the company.
  • Develop next-generation systems for presenting delivery choices, enabling rapid experimentation in user experience.
  • Create monitoring solutions, troubleshoot/debug issues, and implement fixes for internally developed code (Perl, C++, Java).
  • Perform SQL queries and improve systems that gather feature metrics.
  • Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Work alongside development teams on corporate and divisional software projects.
  • Enhance and automate support processes and document systems.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, eager to expand their coding skills, and interested in working with a variety of software applications.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Preferred coding skills: Perl, C++, and/or Java .
  • Other desired technical skills: Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/Linux .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in software development.
