Overview:
Universal Language Service, Inc. is seeking an organized and dynamic Recruiter/Onboarding Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, screening, and fully onboarding interpreters for various projects. You will manage the entire process from sourcing and hiring to ensuring interpreters are trained, compliant, and ready for assignments. This is a key position within our organization that requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruiting:
Proactively source and recruit qualified interpreters through various channels, including job boards, social media, and industry networks.
Screen and interview candidates to ensure their qualifications align with client needs.
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from initial contact to hiring.
Build and maintain a talent pool of qualified interpreters for current and future needs.
Work closely with department heads to understand staffing requirements and anticipate interpreter needs.
Onboarding:
Coordinate and facilitate the full onboarding process for new interpreters, including document verification, compliance checks, and system training.
Ensure interpreters are set up in the system and fully briefed on company policies, procedures, and expectations.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to new hires, addressing any concerns or questions throughout the onboarding process.
Conduct interpreter orientation sessions, ensuring all necessary materials are provided, and training requirements are met.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., scheduling, quality assurance, and client services) to ensure interpreters are appropriately placed and supported in their roles.
Communicate with interpreters regularly to keep them engaged, informed, and supported.
Maintain accurate records of candidate pipelines, onboarding status, and related documentation.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure that all interpreters comply with industry standards, certifications, and legal requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices related to interpreter certifications and compliance.
Manage documentation for all interpreters, including contracts, confidentiality agreements, and other required forms.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or a related field.
Familiarity with interpreter services or language-related industries is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with candidates professionally and empathetically.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficiency with recruitment software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in recruiting for a service-oriented industry, such as healthcare, education, or language services.
Knowledge of industry certifications and compliance standards for interpreters.
Previous experience working with online recruitment platforms and job boards.

Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using recruitment software, HRIS, and other tools to manage candidate data and processes efficiently.
