TheraPlay Spot is a family-friendly pediatric outpatient clinic located in the Heartland of America, near downtown Wichita, Kansas. Our sensory-focused clinic features a forest-themed waiting room with a playful work atmosphere while maintaining excellence in our services. Our therapists primarily have individual treatment rooms and have easy access to two heavily equipped sensory therapy gyms. We also offer telehealth visits as needed, from home or the clinic, and optional visits to homes, communities, private schools, preschools, and daycares.

At TheraPlay Spot, our Pediatric Occupational Therapists work with a diverse caseload in a playful and supportive team culture, benefiting from interdisciplinary collaboration with OT, PT, SLP, and counselors. We emphasize faster progress with regular coaching, empowering caregivers, and offering team volunteer opportunities to give back to the community. We also hold team happy hours, out-of-clinic social events, company holiday parties, and themed weeks like pajama and water weeks, and provide company swag!

Pediatric Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:

Evaluate children newborns to teens with a variety of diagnoses

Create individual POC's with achievable and meaningful goals

Treat children through playful and highly beneficial sessions

Adapt to each child's needs to maximize successful outcomes

Empower and coach parents for the home carryover and buy-in to the therapy process

Communicate openly and effectively with children, families, and co-workers

Complete timely and accurate documentation

Collaborate with other OTs, PTs, and speech therapists

Attend regular staff meetings, presentations, and in-services

Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy

License: Drivers license, Kansas OT license

Must pass prior employer check and criminal background check

· Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision (unless participating in the Mentoring Program)

· One year of outpatient pediatric experience but we will invest in passionate new grads and experienced OTR’s wanting to make the switch to outpatient pediatrics

· Bonus points for SOS or AEIOU (or similar training) and sensory-based feeding experience with picky eaters and food aversions. Paid training is available for those willing to specialize.
