Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Management Team, the Materials Management Specialist ASC will be responsible for the overall analysis and enhancement of supply chain processes within the Materiel Services Department. The Materials Management Specialist will use various quantitative methods and tap into all available techniques and resources to collect relevant data - including distribution data and procurement metrics, as well as information on productivity and customer demand - to prompt improvement in the performance and effectiveness of the department's daily operations. The Materials Management Specialist must have excellent organizational skills and must be able to effectively prioritize and execute critical job functions with minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy. Strong initiative, creativity and a knack for solving complex problems, and an ability to manage multiple ongoing and deadline-driven projects are essential.

The Materials Management Specialist will also work on a variety of ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned, including inventory reductions, product recalls, product implementations, cost analysis, organization of storage areas, and other supply chain centric tasks and assignments. This individual is also responsible to manage and oversee the Tissue Bank, Trackcore and coordinate all implants per UCSF policy. The incumbent will also assist with equipment in a supportive fashion to the perioperative team. This does not replace the need for support, expertise or duties of bio clinical engineering. The Materials Management Specialist will cross cover at the UCSF Orthopedic Institute and all UCSF ASC locations as needed.

The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $143,800 (Annual Rate).
