Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality. This role requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal production outcomes.
Responsibilities
Develop solutions to technical problems utilizing analytical computation and design principals and generate associated engineering documentation and reports
Develop manufacturing fixtures and jigs, and provide design support for customer product designs
Create and/or modify product 3D models and 2D engineering drawings in SolidWorks and conduct necessary design reviews
Conduct First Article inspections and create associated documentation
Develop manufacturing work instructions for existing and new product
Conduct manufacturing studies to improve manufacturability, production efficiency, and quality
Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Skills
BS in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred.
2-4 years direct work experience
Proven experience with design modifications to enhance manufacturability and improve production feasibility.
Demonstrated knowledge of CAD best practices
Experience with SolidWorks developing assembly and component models and associated detailed drawings
Knowledge and application of GD&T
Understanding of statistics and probabilities
Familiarity with basic metrology equipment and usage
Takes ownership of all assigned projects and tasks with ability to work independently, and provide thorough technical recommendations
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset
Detail oriented, collaborative, and strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with MS Office applications
Experience using an ERP/MRP system is a plus
