Job Description

An international supplier of automotive electronics is now looking for a Japanese / English Bilingual Software Engineer to join their office in the Livonia, Michigan area The ideal candidate will have experience working with In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Japanese / English Bilingual Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Designing and developing applications vehicle systems, on the Android platform
• Evaluate and analyze the systems to determine weaknesses and issues, potential improvements, application updates, etc.
• Provide training and assistance to other company personnel on system functions
• Support for technical issues on the end user level, and documentation of actions taken
• Prepare system function documentation and instruction materials
• Plan and implement system updates, as well as department projects and upgrades
• Other duties as assigned

Japanese / English Bilingual Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• 1-3 years’ of work experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.) in Android application development or In-Vehicle-Infotainment (IVI) systems is preferred
• Minimum business-level Japanese language ability is required (JLPT N2 equivalent)
• Strong communication skills and customer service / client relations ability
• Flexibility and willingness to collaborate in a multicultural environment
• Organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and participate in multiple projects simultaneously
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
