POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and motivating the sales team. It is the General Sales Manager’s responsibility to maximize gross profit opportunities for all departments within the dealership. The General Sales Manager is the quarterback of the dealership and must lead the dealership through day-to-day operations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle day to day operations:

  • Organize and lead sales meetings and trainings
  • Run the daily production meeting
  • Produce gross profit, while driving finance penetration and protecting all departments profit opportunities
  • Desking and closing deals with the sales team
  • Work closely with sales team to ensure that the sales system is being properly followed and executed
  • Analyze and review leads using CRM Dashboard
  • Follow-up with salespeople on past due tasks
  • Conduct quality Manager Check Points with salespeople, ensuring that we are showing customers the appropriate inventory
  • Monitor customer interaction, up process, and progress on the Road to the Sale
  • Meet and greet all customers before they view inventory and again before they leave
  • Create and monitor sales manager and sales person schedules
  • Act quick in holding deals together
  • Ensure Colton RV sales department processes are followed
  • Communicate effectively amongst all departments
  • Drive deliveries through the dealership, ensuring a smooth process for our employees and customers
  • Includes scheduling deliveries appropriately
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the delivery schedule
  • Be the best resource in the dealership for product knowledge

Cleanliness of the dealership showroom and sales lot

  • Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good

Inventory

  • Intimately know your inventory (what is distressed, what are our opportunities)
  • ACV trades
  • Walk all trades and negotiate if undisclosed damage is found on day of delivery
  • Ensure the trade check in process is followed
  • Create detail requests for our Recon Department
  • Monitor Inventory on the lot, making sure we have the appropriate inventory on the lot at all times
  • Ensure all inventory is priced accurately on the lot at all times
  • Monitor inventory levels. Work with VP of Sales on any inventory needs
  • Review ACV’s and pricing with VP of Sales
  • Ensure 5 Star Customer Experience: Push for 5 Star Google and Facebook reviews on all transactions
  • Resolve customer concerns to positive outcomes
  • Work with employees on HR concerns and coordinate with ESC and our HR Director
  • Responsible for salesperson coaching, one on one training, and report cards
  • Responsible for the appearance of the sales office
  • Responsible for Receptionist management and schedules
  • Responsible for management of the sales lot porters
  • Ensure the proper salesperson dress code is followed
  • Make sure that Sales Manager and salesperson check lists are complete and signed off on all Deal Jackets
  • Complete manager calls on all phone deals prior to going to finance
  • Review “dead deals” with VP of Sales and Finance Director
  • Responsible for the culture of the sales team
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Sales Manager meeting
  • Assist VP of Sales in setting up Shows
  • Attend RV Shows as assigned

  • Prior experience leading, developing, and building teams
  • Proven track record of success growing sales departments
  • Experience building a positive culture
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills
