Job Description

About the Company: Our client is a prominent and rapidly expanding real estate company, specializing in residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties. The company is dedicated to innovative growth and operational excellence within the real estate market. As the business continues to grow and diversify, they are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide legal guidance and support across a wide range of real estate and corporate matters while contributing to the company's long-term strategic goals.

Role Overview: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law and real estate transactions, providing legal counsel on all aspects of real estate development, investment, and operations. As the Associate General Counsel, you will collaborate closely with senior management and other departments to ensure that the company's legal affairs are properly managed, mitigated, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and real estate contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, development agreements, construction contracts, property management agreements, and financing agreements.
  • Provide legal support for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions related to real estate investments.
  • Advise senior management and business units on a broad range of legal issues, including land use, zoning, environmental compliance, and real estate finance.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing real estate transactions and development.
  • Oversee the management of real estate litigation matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, property-related claims, and contractual disputes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and development teams, to provide practical legal guidance on day-to-day business operations.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in real estate law and regulatory changes that may affect the business.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a corporate legal role, with a focus on real estate transactions and commercial contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law, including leasing, property development, acquisitions, and financing.
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures in the real estate sector.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide clear, practical legal advice.
  • Experience in litigation management, with a focus on real estate disputes, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • A strong understanding of applicable real estate laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.

If you are a skilled and experienced legal professional with a passion for real estate law and corporate strategy, we encourage you to apply for this dynamic opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our client.
